Founded in 1979 Kings Forest Bowmen is a thriving field archery club set within beautiful Suffolk woodland, just a few miles from Bury St Edmunds and Thetford. The club has around 170 members and can boast many World, European, UK and Nationals champions both past and present.
We have three permanent 14 target courses laid out within a stunning pine forest as well as a practice range. Access for club members is 24/7 all year round, plus there are official shoots, members’ nights and opportunities to partake in competitions around the world.
Kings Forest Bowmen host an open shoot on the first Sunday of each month to which any member of the English Field Archery Association or I.F.A.A. affiliated member can attend.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL AT OUR NEXT SHOOT, ALL EFAA MEMBERS WELCOME .
Our next shoot is on Sunday September 2nd and will be a Combination Round with a 10am start. Breakfast is served on Sunday until 9.45am, and rolls can be pre-ordered for lunch. If you haven’t been on a classification shoot before, we encourage all members to come and have a go. Once you’ve done one, you’ll be hooked! Please remember to bring your EFAA membership record card.
On Saturday 25th August club equipment (3D animals, new butts, posts & cardboard, etc) must be moved from the farm where they are currently stored.
Some help with the unloading & stacking at the club would be greatly appreciated.
RED COURSE HELP
Forestry plans for Red Course are a total clearance (hopefully leaving the young trees) in November.
The course will need to be cleared from Targets 1 – 6 (or 7) and 12 – 14. The date for this is Saturday 22nd September.
All the butts, posts, tapes, distance pegs etc must be removed and stacked off the course. Your help with this will be much appreciated.
Blue Course will need Targets 1 – 4 cleared by the end of October.
IF YOU ARE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE CLUB ON EITHER OF THE 2 DATES ABOVE PLEASE CONFIRM WITH DANIEL OR ALEC. THANKYOU.
NB: There will be NO SHOOTING at the club from Monday to Friday whilst the Forestry staff is working. This is normal practice and there should be access for weekend shooting.
